How to build your own garden. An introduction from Gardening with Less Pain

Gardening is becoming a necessary revolution in our world. With over seven billion mouths to be fed, farmers are pushing their soil so hard; the mineral content is not passing through to our food. Genetically Modified plants (GMO’s) are being used to keep up with this demand, without any real understanding of what these changes to our food will do to our overall health.

The only answer is to be able to produce as much of our own controlled food as possible. The reality is we do not have the time, and often the strength, to go back to farming. Painless Gardening is a simple guide to help provide ways to full fill our need to garden with simple solutions.

The internet and book shelves are filling up with books claiming to be easy gardening. Those of us who actually do garden know this is a lie. A garden is work, and if you are looking for the McDonalds instant gratification version, you are going to fail. You have to psychologically prepare yourself to be patient and dedicated to this change in your lifestyle.

The reward goes far deeper than better tasting food. I have never met an obese gardener. And walking into hundreds of gardens, I have never met a single person tending a garden be depressed and down spirited. There is something essential to our souls when we become a part of process of the earth producing the food we consume.

Actual joy and satisfaction of a job well done, radiates from successful gardeners. On the other hand I have seen frustration and serious physical pain from people who do not have the garden set up in a way that best suits their needs. There are ways to garden with less pain. As with any project, as much time should be spent in planning as the actual work. Build on the right foundation and you will be rewarded.
